The St. James Center for Spiritual Formation continues its Summer Sounds at St. James series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at St. James Episcopal Church, 208 N. 4th St.

The July 13 concert will feature pianist and Emmy Award-winning composer Mike Esneault, along with Troy Davis on drums and Roland Guerin on bass. New Orleans jazz singer Stephanie Jordan will provide vocals.

The second annual Summer Sounds series guest artist list reflects the diversity of music available in and around the capital city including jazz and blues, the great standards, gospel harmony and classical instrumental.

Admission for each concert is $10, and college students with a valid ID will be admitted free. A reception will follow each concert, allowing audience members an opportunity to meet the performers.

The series will feature the sultry southern sound of Heart Voice Trio July 20. Making up the trio are Marie Flowers, Helen Hoffpauir and Cathy McManus, who perform Delta blues, jazz and gospel.

On July 27, The Campanile Trio will perform. This trio is led by Baton Rouge Symphony concertmaster Kelly Smith Toney on violin, Jennifer Cassin on viola and Daniel Cassin on cello.

The trio will perform Beethoven, Mozart and other light classical favorites.
