? River Community Church, 36367 Old Perkins Road, Prairieville, opens its third annual Children’s Community Art and Photography Show today, Aug. 24.
The show runs through Sunday, Sept. 28. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Sundays and by appointment.
? The River Region Art Association is calling for vendors for its annual Awesome Art on the Bayou Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12, on the banks of Bayou Francois, adjacent to Jambalaya Park in Gonzales.

? Singers from the campus and community are invited to join the Southeastern Louisiana University Northshore Choral Society and University Chorus. These are nonauditioned ensembles of university students and community members. Rehearsals begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the choir room of the Pottle Music Building Annex on campus in Hammond.
