The LSU Department of Theatre presents the 2015 Spring Dance Concert and Physical Theatre Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in the Claude L. Shaver Theater in the Music & Dramatic Arts Building, Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge.

LSU dance students, under the direction of Sandra Parks, will feature collaborations with the School of Music percussion ensemble and the School of Art interior design studios. “Passage to You,” inspired by the lanterns of Asian culture, is a contemporary pointe work created by Parks.

“Journey to Congo Square,” a fusion of contemporary movement with Haitian and West African dance, features the original composition by associate professor Brett Diaz and the LSU Percussion Ensemble. Both pieces will include scenery created by the School of Art’s interior design studio, mentored by associate professors of design John Campbell and Jun Zou.

The concert will also feature student choreographers’ work, which was mentored by Parks.

Tickets are $18 for adults; $15 for seniors, LSU faculty and staff; and $12 for all students.
