An exhibit showcasing the American Institute of Architects Baton Rouge’s award-winning projects will be open through Jan. 18 at the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge.

The free exhibit, “Building Ideas: The Making of Architecture,” provides a glimpse into the inner workings of how architects do their job to make buildings become a reality.

The projects in this exhibition are the winners of the institute’s 2014 Rose Awards.

On Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6-8 p.m. a reception will be held to allow the pubic to ask the architects about projects, such as the Shaw Center’s Bar, Progress Elementary, 438 Main Street (apartment complex downtown) and private homes.
