The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre will hold open auditions for advanced dancers for its 2015-16 season at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court.

This audition is for classically trained intermediate- and advance-level dancers who have been on pointe for at least two years.

While company auditions are usually held in conjunction with “Nutcracker” auditions at the end of September, auditions are being held earlier this year due to additional performance opportunities associated with the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival.

These advanced dancers will perform in Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker — A Tale from the Bayou,” the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival’s Emerging Choreographer’s Performance and Gala Performance, as well as various community performances.

All dancers should arrive at least 15 minutes before their audition time. Girls should wear a leotard and tights. Boys should wear white T-shirts with either black gym shorts or black tights. There will be a $10 audition fee.
