The LSU Theatre Lab Season will present John Cariani’s drama, “Almost, Maine,” a production the New York Times calls “sweet, poignant and witty,” Tuesday through Sunday, Feb. 16-21.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, in the LSU Music and Dramatic Arts Building, Dalrymple Drive.
Carla Lahey directs the story that takes place on a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter. All is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine.
As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways.
Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend — almost — in this midwinter night’s dream.
This play was selected by the American National Theatre as one of the most outstanding regional theatre productions of the 2004-2005 season.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling (225) 578-3527 or visiting wp.theatre.lsu.edu.
