The LSU A Cappella Choir’s fall concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge.
Conducted by John H. Dickson, the concert will feature choral music from Great Britain and the United States, which will be performed during the choir’s invitational tour to Great Britain in August 2016, when the group will represent the United States at the Association of British Choral Directors National Congress.
The highlight of the Wednesday concert will be a world premiere commission by film score orchestrator and classical composer J.A.C. Redford. The choir also will perform works by British composers Howells, Weelkes, Host, Finzi and Tallis, along with contemporary American composers Daniel Elder, Norman Dinerstein, Kirk Mechem and Moses Hogan.
