Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre is warning patrons to beware of unauthorized third-party websites that are selling tickets to its “The Nutcracker — A Tale from the Bayou” at exorbitant prices.

The only authorized online retailer for “Nutcracker” tickets is direct sale through Ticketmaster.com.

Tickets also can be purchased at the River Center Box Office or by calling the ballet’s office at (225) 766-8379.

Tickets range from $20 in the balcony to $55 in the front of the orchestra for its performances at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 19-20, at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts, 275 St. Louis St. Seats are still available for all four performances.

Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre is not affiliated with or benefiting from any tickets sold at unauthorized third-party websites that are scalping “Nutcracker” tickets for as much as $700 per person.

This original interpretation of the classic ballet features world-class guest artists, BRBT’s company, live music from the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, a professional stage crew and more than 300 area children.

Guest artists will include Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Alison Stroming and Joffrey Ballet’s Aaron Smyth.
