The LSU Department of Theatre will open Tony Vellela’s “Admissions” on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the Studio Theatre in the LSU Music & Dramatic Arts Building on Dalrymple Drive.

The production is the second in the theater department’s Lab Season. Chelsie Ciccone is the director.

In this topical work, Vellela explores important social issues that face society through the lens of seven college students. Racism and hidden prejudices surface when seven students lock themselves in the president’s office to protest tuition hikes. As outside pressures mount, they must confront feelings which tear apart the personal relationships within the group and threaten the success of their action.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 20-23, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

Tickets are $10. Call (225) 578-4174 or visiting
