Each season, Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre hosts national auditions for the summer intensive programs of several major ballet companies.

This year, the company will welcome Orlando Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and Ballet Met to audition regional dancers for limited spots in their prestigious programs.

All auditions will be at the Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court, Baton Rouge. Each program has separate, specific audition requirements. Links to each program’s website can be found by visiting batonrougeballet.org.

Audition dates are as follows:

ORLANDO BALLET: Sunday, Jan. 17, for ages 12 and older. Registration is at 1 p.m. and auditions are at 1:30 p.m.

NASHVILLE BALLET SUMMER INTENSIVE: Saturday, Jan. 23, for ages 11 and older. Registration is at noon and auditions are from 1-3 p.m.

OKLAHOMA CITY BALLET: Sunday, Jan. 24, for ages 13 to 23. Registration is at 1 p.m. and auditions are from 1:30-3 p.m.

AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE: Saturday, Jan. 30, for ages 11 and older. Registration is at 2 p.m., and auditions are from 3-5 p.m. for ages 11 to 14 and 5-7 p.m. for ages 15 and older.

BALLET MET: Sunday, Jan. 31, for ages 8 to 20. Registration is at 2 p.m., and auditions are from 2:30-4 p.m.
