Here’s what’s going on in the area arts and cultural scene:

The exhibit, “Other Voices, Other Rooms,” will open with a reception at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, during Covington White Linen Night, at the St. Tammany Art Association, 320 N. Columbia St., Covington. Visit sttammanyartassociation.org.

The West Feliciana Parish Historical Society will host “Night at the Museum,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, where exhibits will come to life at its museum, 11757 Ferdinand St., St. Francisville, as its annual fundraiser. Artists are invited to show and sell their work at the Jackson Bicentennial Celebration from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. The event is sponsored by the Town of Jackson, and artwork will be shown within the Jackson Cultural District, which charges no sales tax on original art. River Community Church, 36367 Old Perkins Road, Prairieville, is inviting artists aged 5 to 13 to submit their original artworks for its fourth annual children’s community art show. Registration is open for the Women in Dance Leadership Conference, Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, at the Manship Theatre in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge.
