Beautiful Black Girls Inc. will hold a recruitment event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 20.

The event, for girls ages 6-17, as well as volunteers and facilitators, will take place at the T. J. Jemison Baptist Student Center, 724 Harding Blvd.

Recruitment day allows girls to get an up-close look at some of the organization’s discussion topics and programs, a news release said.

Throughout the year, girls attend workshops on such topics as building self-esteem and character, health and nutrition, college preparation, financial literacy, public speaking and fashion.
