PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT, Capital Area Animal Welfare Society — (225) 752-5801: Reliable, independent and enthusiastic volunteers are needed to go to events and get the word out about CAAWS. Events are sporadic throughout the year, and you would help the public relations coordinator plan and staff events. Must be 21 or older.

PICK YOUR PASSION, Volunteers in Public Schools — (225) 226-4706: If you have a specific interest or talent you would like to share, learn how to become involved in supporting students. Must be 21 or older.

CASA VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION, Capital Area CASA Association — (225) 379-8598: Volunteer to become a voice for an abused neglected child while he or she awaits a safe and permanent home during this 45-minute informational session. Volunteer orientation is 3-3:45 p.m. on March 30. Must be 21 or older.

HOST A RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY, Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge — (225) 387-0061: Volunteer groups can host an arts and crafts class, a movie and popcorn party, or any other fun activity at one of our residential facilities serving children, teens, adults with disabilities or the elderly. Groups will provide supplies and/or refreshments. Must be 16 or older.

HOPE SHOPPING BUDDIES, HOPE Ministries — (225) 355-0702: Volunteers are needed from 8:45 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to serve as a shopping companion to clients. Make clients feel welcome and comfortable, assist them in choosing nutritious foods, and help load selections into clients’ vehicles when needed. Must be 18 or older.
