Women! A Week-Long Celebration marks the 20th year of the Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge on Friday, Sept. 19, with a celebratory luncheon and kickoff to the dozens of activities scheduled Sept. 19-28.

At the luncheon, Holly Clegg, best-selling cookbook author, will speak on “Eating Healthy for Life: Secrets to Sizzle in Your Kitchen.”

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for networking and visiting the Activity Fair, where you can learn more about Women’s Week and meet some of its patrons, activity sponsors and presenters.

Clegg has sold more than a million cookbooks, including her award-winning and best-selling “trim&TERRIFIC” cookbook series, which provides a practical approach to an overall healthier lifestyle. Her series also includes more specific health-focused cookbooks for diabetes, cancer and arthritis.

Known as the “Queen of Quick,” Clegg devises recipes that save time and are pantry- and user-friendly. More than 50,000 people subscribe to her app, Mobile Rush-Hour Recipes. Clegg, who calls Baton Rouge home, is a wife and mother of three.

More than 150 activities will be held during Women’s Week in areas such as:

  • Professional development
  • Computer and technology
  • Cultural events, lectures
