East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Councilman John Delgado and Southeastern Louisiana University sophomore Donalyn Marie Norris, daughter of Tonilyn Guidry and William Norris, reigned as King and Queen Mystique XL as Le Krewe Mystique de la Capitale celebrated to the movie soundtrack “Grease” at its 40th Mardi Gras Ball Jan. 23 at the Crowne Plaza. Tonilyn Robillard Guidry presided over the festivities as ball captain.

Attending the queen as pages were Aubrey Fabre, daughter of Amber and David Fabre, and Alayna Young, daughter of Jenna and Brent Young. The king’s pages were brothers Collin and Connor McGehee, sons of Charlotte and Troy McGehee.

Introduced to krewe members and guests were 2016 debutantes Megan Alford, daughter of Becky and Walton Alford; Madeline Reese Bourgeois, daughter of Diane and James Bourgeois; Angelle and Nicole Crochet, daughters of Linda and Kevin Crochet; Rayne Daniel, daughter of Lynda Hiltz and William Daniel; Madison Dawson, daughter of Erin and Jeremy Walker; Katherine Germany, daughter of Bernadette and John Germany; Madison Lee, daughter of Traci and Doug Lee; Amelia Gayle Marchand, daughter of Susan and Matt Marchand; and Campbell Wall, daughter of Ann and Don Wall.

The tableau began with the introduction of last year’s court: Ball Captain Rhonda Brouillette Cassano, King Will Clark, Queen Ashton Lane and returning debs Bethany Suzanne Acosta, Rowan Edaire Baird, Mallory Renée Borel, Alison Elizabeth Dazzio, Kaci Marie Favaro, Raegan MacKenzie Gallegos, Julia Rose LeGrande, Cayley Elizabeth LeBlanc, Claire Elise Palmer, Caroline Smith, Haley Nicole Sylvester and Cameron Small.

The tableau wrapped up with the entry of the lieutenants — Rick Bourgeois, Tommy Davis, Gary Gitner, Mike Henry, David Jumper, Jim Kaiser, Peter Kelle, Rudy Landry, Jay McGee, Enrique Osuna, Henry Peré, Tony Pittman, Tim Porch and Bill Ragsdale.

Master of ceremonies for the evening was WBRZ’s Chris Nakamoto; 2une-In’s Kylie Dixon was grand marshall for the night and for the krewe’s parade, which rolls through downtown at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. Music for dancing was by Stormy.

Choreographer and coordinator for the tableau was Kris Cangelosi, director of Cangelosi Dance Project. Special effects and technology was provided by Bob Blanchard, Premiere Sound Services. Pat Hartdegan designed the king’s costume and Jodi Acosta designed the pages’ costumes.

Serving on Mystique’s 2015-16 board of management are President David Jumper, Vice President Henry Peré, Treasurer Jim Kaiser, Secretary Rick Bourgeois, Kris Cangelosi, Carolyn Pittman, Tommy Davis, Sally Hirschheim, Connie Wagner, David Huet, Robin Kennedy Bill Ragsdale and Eva Smill.
