Latter & Blum awards annual scholarships
Latter & Blum Realtors has awarded 16 scholarships to the children of company agents and employees as part of the company’s annual scholarship program.
Area scholarship recipients are: Mary K. Arotin, daughter of Marie Brock, C.J. Brown Realtors, Denham Springs; Gabrielle McGee, daughter of Rebekah McGee, Van Eaton and Romero Realtors, Lafayette; Adrian Colon, son of Madelaine Muller, C.J. Brown, Baton Rouge Perkins office; Lauren Janway, daughter of Gaila Janway. C.J. Brown, Baton Rouge Sherwood office; Ashley Morgan, daughter of Walter Morgan, C.J. Brown Baton Rouge Sherwood office; Breanna Smith, daughter of Anna Lee Smith, C.J. Brown, Baton Rouge Sherwood office; and Bryce Dugas, son of Brent Dugas, Latter & Blum, Baton Rouge.
Wetherford achieves Boy Scout Eagle rank
Taylor Wetherford, of Baton Rouge, achieved the Eagle rank in Boy Scouts on Aug. 16.
Wetherford, 18, graduated this year from Baton Rouge Magnet High School, and is the son of Jimmy and Sharon Wetherford. He is a member of Troop 505, sponsored by St. John’s United Methodist Church. Ted Newsom is troop leader.
Wetherford’s Eagle project was a bike repair station at BREC Comite River Park.
Capitol High reunion
The first meeting to plan the 50-year reunion for all Golden Lions of the Class of 1965 from Capitol High School will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, 132 North 23rd St., Baton Rouge. For more information, call Pat at (225) 356-6091.
