“Louisiana: The State We’re In’s” Sue Lincoln will take viewers inside some French immersion classrooms in Friday’s show at 7 p.m. on WLPB, Channel 27.1 (cable Channel 12).

It used to be illegal for Louisiana public school students to talk in French, but now many of them are learning their math, science and social studies entirely in that language.

The weekly news show will also look at how the hip-hop culture is moving outside of its urban roots and making its way into the mainstream. A hip-hop dance instructor is teaching a class at Episcopal High, while thousands attended the recent Baton Rouge Hops Festival and Celebration of All Things Hip Hop.

Also, Shirley White with Success Images will offer a road map to finding a job with the help of social media websites including Facebook and Twitter.
