Red Stick Sprouts kids club activities planned

Children ages 12 and under are invited to join the Red Stick Sprouts kids club on Saturday morning at the Red Stick Farmers Market.

The Spouts tent will feature a veggie art activity. The kids club is free and children will receive a market tote bag and tokens to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

Pat Mahon of Episcopal High School will also have a kid-friendly cooking demonstration and tasting inside Main Street Market beginning at 10 a.m.

Red Stick Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays at Fifth and Main streets. On Saturdays, free parking is available for market shoppers in the Galvez Garage, which also serves as the farmers market rain location.

The Thursday Farmers Market is held on Irene Boulevard behind Pennington Biomedical Research Center, 6400 Perkins Road, from 8 a.m. to noon, weather permitting.

Red Stick Mobile Farmers Market operates weekly, weather permitting, on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Scotlandville Library, 7373 Scenic Highway; and from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Star Hill Church, 1400 N. Foster Drive; and on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Delmont Service Center, 3535 Riley St.; and from noon to 2 p.m. at Dr. Leo S. Butler Community Center, 950 E. Washington St.

Krispy Kreme to offer free doughnuts June 6

In honor of National Doughnut Day, on June 6, Krispy Kreme is offering one free doughnut of any variety to customers at any of its participating United States and Canadian locations.
