New Orleans singer Quentin Alexander, the only Louisiana contestant still in the running on this season’s “American Idol,” was eliminated Wednesday night.
Alexander, who had a well-publicized exchange of words with judge Harry Connick Jr. last week, had reached the Top 6 in the reality competition series before being sent home at the close of the two-hour live episode.
Before that, Alexander performed two arena anthem songs — Florence + The Machines’ “Shake It Out” and the classic
“Light My Fire” by The Doors.
Alexander’s “Idol” exit this week means he just missed making the “Idol” summer tour featuring the top 5 finalists, which starts after the Season 14 finale in May.
