The Red Stick Mobile Farmers Market is adding a stop in north Baton Rouge.
The market will be at the ExxonMobil YMCA, 7717 Howell Blvd., from 3 p.m to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through July. A variety of seasonal produce will be available, including tomatoes, squash, cabbage, leafy greens, strawberries and blueberries. The market will also include nutrition and fitness education. It accepts cash, SNAP/EBT, WIC, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons, and credit and debit cards.
The Red Stick Mobile Farmers Market is a special project of the Big River Economic and Agricultural Alliance under the Fresh Beginnings grant program. BREADA operates both the Red Stick Farmers Market and Main Street Market.
Fresh Beginnings is a program of Mayor-President Kip Holden’s Healthy City Initiative. It promotes food access, healthy eating and active lifestyles in north and Old South Baton Rouge, with a focus on ZIP codes 70807, 70805 and part of 70802.
