The Louisiana Voices of Women Theatre Company will conduct auditions for its upcoming production of Elizabeth Brown-Guillory’s play, “For La Bakair” 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Monday at the Main EBR Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.

The play depicts the struggles of a New Orleans actress to win back her husband and child, while honoring the extraordinary Josephine Baker through her tribute performance of the great star. Roles to be filled are black woman, early 30s, which includes some singing and dancing; white Jewish woman, early 70s; black woman, late 60s; black man, late 30s to early 40s; and Hispanic woman, early 30s.

The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and Monday, Sept. 22, at the Hartley/Vey Studio Theatre at the Manship Theatre in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St.
