Chef Tom Wolfe has returned to New Orleans to join the Omni Royal Orleans’ Rib Room culinary team as executive chef.

The award-winning chef has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of the restaurant world, a news release said. He worked at some of New Orleans’ top restaurants before spending the past several years in Mississippi and Alabama, most recently at Louisiana Pantry in Orange Beach, Alabama.

“Wolfe will add an exciting new dimension to the hotel’s Zagat-rated restaurant, banquet and private party facilities through his innovative take on contemporary dining and traditional New Orleans cuisine,” the release said.

The Rib Room, in the Omni Royal Orleans at St. Louis and Royal streets in the French Quarter, is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For reservations, call (504) 529-7046.

New Unique Cruisine exec

Unique Cuisine Catering in Baton Rouge has named Joshua Robin as its new executive chef for the company’s on-site and off-site catering services.

Robin has worked at various Louisiana restaurants, including Galatoire’s Bistro in Baton Rouge and Café Des Amies in Breaux Bridge. He also has extensive training and kitchen management experience, said General Manager Ryan Diez.

While working for Copeland’s of New Orleans, Robin was responsible for opening restaurants in Louisiana; Houston; Orlando, Florida; Annapolis, Maryland; Las Vegas; and Chicago, Diez said.

He has won the Acadiana Culinary Classic in Lafayette and his cooking has been featured in various publications.

Unique Cuisine is the official caterer for the LSU Alumni Association’s Cook Hotel and Conference Center.
