The Baton Rouge Assembly was formed in 1961 by a group of Baton Rouge men who had grown up together when the city was just a small town. The founders realized that as the city grew rapidly after World War II, old friends were losing contact with each other. Because they wanted their children to know one another, they established the Baton Rouge Assembly as an organization to provide social contact with the common thread being family residence in the area prior to 1910.
Thomas Chalmers McKowen IV is this year’s Assembly chairman. John Kelly Fahrmann is the assistant chairman, Scott Joseph Folse is ball chairman, and John Michael Selser is the assistant ball chairman.
