Chef Cody Carroll, owner with wife Samantha of Hot Tails Restaurant in New Roads and Sac-a-Lait in New Orleans, is returning to The Taste on April 14 to defend his crown in the celebrity chef cook-off. Serving as his sous chef is State Police Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson.

Challenging Carroll and Edmonson are chef Ryan André, of City Pork, and his sous chef, WBRZ sports director Michael Cauble, and the duo of “Master Chef Junior” finalist Avery Kyle and “Master Chef” contestant Jesse Romero.
The 30-minute competition will be hosted by “Food Network Star” finalist Jay Ducote, of the Bite & Booze radio show, and presented by Calandro’s Supermarket and Culinary Productions. The evening also will feature culinary offerings from more than 20 of the capital city’s top restaurants and caterers, a silent auction and live musical entertainment by the John Gray Jazz Trio.
