Mary Lee Eggart, who is a third-generation parishioner and archivist of the parish since 1999, will share “A Brief History of Sacred Heart Parish.” The lecture is sponsored by the church, The Foundation for Historical Louisiana and the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance.   • DETAILS: The brunch is to increase awareness of lupus and raise funds to fight this oftentimes debilitating disease. This event is the precursor to the Lupus Foundation’s 27th Annual Esther W. Eames Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 13, at Santa Maria Golf Course in Baton Rouge. Radio personality Latangela Sherman, of Max 94.1, and attorney Ryan Chenevert, Cosmopolitan Magazine’s 2013 Bachelor of the Year, will host this event. Entertainment will be by Charmaine Neville, Shaun Ward Xperience, Maggie Belle & Band, Henry Turner Jr. and The Flavor, Micaela Mone, Flawless 4, Cliff & Company, Katelyn Perry and Irene Simon. MJ’s Chicken and Waffle Co., of Prairieville, and Creative Events Group will provide the brunch. The Louisiana Lupus Foundation provides information, education and referral for those affected by lupus and aids the development and enhancement of health and social welfare services at the local level to assist individuals suffering from lupus; supports research programs related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of lupus, and promotes public education and awareness of lupus and an understanding of the ramifications of living with lupus.
