“Food: Sense or Science” is the topic for an Oct. 21 forum at the Southern Food & Beverage Museum in New Orleans.
Dr. Eric Griggs will present the 6 p.m. session at the museum, 1830 Martin Luther King Blvd. The free event is part of the Contemporary Issues in Food & Drink Lecture Series presented by Domino Foods.
Griggs will explore why we eat. While food and drink provide a sensory experience that brings us pleasure and is emotionally satisfying, they also present an array of choices based on the scientifically identified need for certain nutritional components essential for new cell development and bodily well-being.
