WHAT: Re-enactment of the Battle of Baton Rouge, Marche de Galvez
WHEN: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24
WHERE: Galvez Plaza, Third Street, Baton Rouge
DETAILS: After a brief call to arms, march down Third Street to engage and defeat the enemy, who will be staged near the site of the original fort at what later became the Baton Rouge Welcome Center. Colonial/militia attire is encouraged. Following the "British" surrender, there will be music, dancing and refreshments.

WHAT: Cat Haven of Greater Baton Rouge's 16th annual Cat Tails and Cocktails fundraiser

DETAILS: The event includes musical entertainment, a silent auction, food and drinks. Cat Haven of Greater Baton Rouge has helped more than 11,000 cats and kittens find homes since the shelter’s founding more than 17 years ago.
