Forum topics included post-traumatic stress disorder, veterans benefits, financial planning and educational benefits. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office gave a self-defense demonstration.

Brig. Gen. Joanne Sheridan, adjutant general for the Louisiana National Guard, was the conference speaker. Irma Darphin, of Iota, was the only World War II veteran in attendance.
