The Louisiana International Film Festival and Mentorship Program (LIFF) is partnering with Sony Pictures to host next week a screening of a new true life drama.
LIFF and Sony Pictures will screen "Only the Brave" at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16 at AMC Mall of Louisiana 15, 9168 Mall of Louisiana Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
The free screening is first-come, first-served. LIFF is asking that patrons who want to see the film arrive at 6:30 p.m. to get a seat.
"Only the Brave" is based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of firefighters who put everything on the line to save a town from a historic wildfire.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski ("Oblivion," "TRON: Legacy"), "Only the Brave" is packed with an all-star cast including Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, James Badge Dale, Andie MacDowell and Jeff Bridges. The movie, which is rated PG-13, will open in theaters everywhere on Friday, Oct. 20.
Already, "Only the Brave" is getting rave reviews. Peter Deburge of Variety said the movie is a "gripping and powerfully emotional portrait of yee-haw heroism."
