Grits can be an interesting food topic. Love them or hate them, there’s typically not much of a middle ground. There is, however, much that can be done with them from brunches and breakfast fares to dinner.

A personal favorite is cheese grits, and they are exceptionally easy to prepare in the slow cooker. Add in a few other ingredients for extra flavor and you have a fun side dish to just about any meal.

For those of you having celebrations for graduations or other important family events, this is an easy, yet tasty, way to enjoy the occasion. Although this particular recipe calls for canned Mexicorn for convenience and added flavor, you can just as easily use fresh corn, cut off the cob if you prefer, or one cup frozen corn. Use about six ears of corn if you choose the fresh.

For a simple get-together, a buffet of eggs, grits, fresh fruit, muffins and other favorites can be an easy way to eat and visit.
