HALLOWEEN PARADE, Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank – Bonnie Bordelon, (225) 359-9940, ext. 207: The GBR Food Bank is looking for volunteers to walk with the food bank truck to collect non-perishable food donations during the Halloween Parade that will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1.

RECEPTIONIST VOLUNTEER, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Katie Richard, (225) 336-8700, ext. 404: Help serve visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them. Volunteers needed who are active listeners, uphold professionalism, customer focused, organized and handle pressure well.

Volunteers should also be skilled with a telephone, communication, Microsoft Office and supply management.

THANKSGIVING CAMP, Big Buddy Program, Jodi Altazan, (225) 388-9437: The Big Buddy Program needs volunteers to work with youth during Thanksgiving Camp. Accompany youngsters on field trips to LSU and work with athletes, learn about Environmental Science and about the community.

DIRECT CARE, The Hospice of Baton Rouge, Evelyn Ramirez, (225) 767-4673: Make a difference in the lives of our Hospice patients by helping them to live as fully and comfortably as possible. Direct Patient Care Volunteers provide companionship for patients, and respite for their caregivers. Volunteers play cards with patients, read to them or just visit and provide someone to talk with. It can make a tremendous difference during the end-of-life process.

FOOD PICKUP VOLUNTEERS, Happi Llandiers – Helen Whitfield and Peggy Casanova, (225) 635-2301: Volunteers are needed to help the organization pick up food from the food bank on the third Tuesday of the month and deliver it to their St. Francisville location. This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity.
