July 4th concert
The Baton Rouge Concert Band will perform its annual July 4th concert on the steps of the State Capitol at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 4.
Mt. Rushmore trip

Blue Dog exhibit
The LSU Museum of Art will host an exhibit titled Blue Dogs and Cajuns on the River: George Rodrigue from the New Orleans Museum of Art and Other Collections. The exhibit will run July 23-Sept. 18. Rodrigue recently unveiled an original painting of an LSU-clad Blue Dog titled “A Number One Tiger Fan.” Proceeds from sales of that print will benefit the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

Call to artists

Yoga at the Manship
Yoga classes taught by Alvin A. Temple will be held at the Manship Theatre downtown this summer. The classes are designed to increase strength and flexibility, and improve mental well-being. WWII Museum trip
The St. James Episcopal seniors will host a day trip to the National WWII Museum in New Orleans on July 13 to see Beyond All Boundaries. The film was created exclusively for the museum. Free museum visits
Military families can receive free admission to museums participating in the Blue Star Museum program now through Labor Day. This includes the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, the LSU Museum of Art, and the West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen.
