Local wine aficionados, this is your week. Two tempting wine dinners are on the calendar. A third dinner is planned for April 21.
The first gastronomic experience takes place Wednesday at Beausoleil (at 7731 Jefferson Highway) beginning at 7 p.m. and features five different 2014 Pinot Noirs from Patricia Green Cellars. Special guest for the night is Patricia Green, herself.
The wines include “Estate,” “Old Vine,” “Balcombe,” “Freedom Hill” and “Olenik.” The menu features Salade Lyonnaise; Escargot and Sweet breads with mushrooms, caper berries and beurre blanc; Saddle of lamb, root vegetables and Bourguignon sauce; and, for dessert, Baked St. André, Candied Peanut, Truffle, Cherry.

Matherne’s Downtown (at 440 N. Third St., #100) is the setting for Friday night’s dinner featuring Sonoma County’s Decoy wines, beginning at 7 p.m.
The lineup includes the 2014 Decoy Sauvignon Blanc paired with homemade falafel with cucumber yogurt sauce; a 2014 Chardonnay paired with spring mix salad with apples, pears & dried cranberries tossed in a lemon drop vinaigrette; 2013 Decoy Pinot Noir and 2013 Zinfandel paired with Blue-On-Blue Pulled Pork Pizza, featuring Kathy’s homemade pizza crust with pulled pork, blueberry sauce & blue cheese; and the 2013 Decoy Merlot, Red Blend and Cabernet Sauvignon paired with the Chairman’s Reserve Ribeye steak, loaded baked potato mash and, for dessert Louisiana strawberry shortcake.

Local Chefs Robert Larson and Jesse Romero will team up to create an all-Louisiana sourced menu highlighting the outdoor kitchen equipment on display at the ShoppersChoice.com Showroom (at 10920 Coursey Blvd.) for an April 21 dinner that gets underway with Chargrilled Oysters and cocktails at 6 p.m. The menu also features Fried Green Tomato BLT, Smoked Tenderloin Flatbread, Crawfish Stuffed Mirliton and, for dessert, a Braised Fig Crepe.
