DETAILS: Society member Greg Lindsly will talk about his research of the Canary Islanders who moved into St. Landry, Lafayette, St. Martin and St. Mary parishes. All meetings are open to the public.

DETAILS: The ball will have a "Wicked" and "Wizard of Oz" theme, so partygoers are encouraged to dress the part. Carbon Copy and United We Jam will provide the music. Alzheimer’s Services is not affiliated with a national organization so money raised will remain in the 10-parish service area. Proceeds will be used to continue support and educational programs to help guide caregivers and those affected with the disease, including operation of the two Charlie's Place Respite Centers, which provide programs of cognitive stimulation and social interaction for people with early- to mild-stage Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disorders.
