Award-winning chef Matt Murphy, of the Irish House in New Orleans, will be the featured chef at the Baton Rouge Irish Club’s sixth annual Wine and Food Experience on Friday, Oct. 23.

Murphy is a past winner of the Food Network cooking challenge series “Chopped” and has appeared on the “Today” show, and the Irish House was named one of the top five places to go on St. Patrick’s Day by Forbes.

The event takes place at Celtic Studios, 10000 Celtic Drive, Baton Rouge, beginning at 7 p.m.

The evening will offer wine tasting and food prepared and presented by popular restaurants, chefs and vintners from the greater Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas.

Participating are: The Irish House Restaurant, Beausoleil Restaurant, Café Americain Restaurant, City Pork Brasserie and Bar, Desserts First, French Market Bistro, Galatoire’s Restaurant, Mansurs on the Boulevard, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Zea Rotisserie and Grill, and Crescent Crown Distributors.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, Oct. 1, and are $40 per person in advance, or $50 at the door. A ticket includes food and beverages provided by the featured vendors and a commemorative wine glass.
