The 5K run/walk is presented by Of Moving Colors, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in front of the 13th Gate Haunted House. The event features prizes, deejay music, refreshments and free Thriller classes.

Winans book signing
Celebrate photographer Fonville Winans’ 100th birthday with a book signing 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at The Foyer, 3655 Perkins Road. Cruise of the Pintail is a journal that tells the story of Winans’ journey through the waterways of south Louisiana during the 1930s. The book’s co-editors are Robert L. Winans and James R. Turner. Copies of the book and several Winans prints will be available for purchase.
