Laureate Alpha Gamma holds Beginning Day

Laureate Alpha Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held Beginning Day Aug. 16 at President Dixie Gregory’s home. Also attending were Virginia Huffman, Gail Keller, Verlyn LeBlanc, Jean Leyda and Page Meyer.

Leyda passed out yearbooks, and chapter chairwomen reviewed their sections. Members discussed the sorority’s Mississippi convention to be held in September in McComb.

Walker student named High School Scholar

Austin Broussard, of Walker High School, has been selected to the national Society of High School Scholars. The society recognizes students for leadership, scholarship and community involvement.
