Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Nu Gamma Omega Chapter, will present 19 debutantes Aug. 23 during a Rites of Passage Ceremony at the Greater King David Activity Center.

The young women will be formally presented to society in spring of 2016 at a debutante cotillion.

Mia Elisse Age is the granddaughter of Vera H. and Archie L. Sumlin Sr., of Atlantic Beach, Florida, and Goldie B. Age, of LaPlace, and the late Huey Age Sr. She attends McKinley Senior High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government Association, Key Club, Varsity Cheer Squad and Talented Drama.

Hanna Ruth Baham is the granddaughter of Sandra and Robert Williams and the late Thelma Baham and the late Elliott C. Baham. She attends Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She is a member of Hightime Evangelistic Center Church and the ASCEND program with Gamma Eta Omega Chapter.

Breona Leshae Barnes is the granddaughter of the late Frozina W. Williams and the late Arthur Howard Sr., and Jerry Ridgley and the late Thelma L. Ridgley and Wade E. Barnes Sr., of Zachary. She attends Zachary High School, where she is a member of Future Business Leaders of America Club and Student Athletic Trainer.

Amora Nadiyah Bonius is the granddaughter of Claudia Elbert and the late Kenneth Elbert Sr. and Maude and Jimmie Jackson. She attends McKinley Senior High School.

Sundae Marie Brumfield is the niece of Jennifer Brumfield and the granddaughter of Claire S. and John H. Brumfield. She attends Capitol High School. She is a member of Girls State Delegate, Louisiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council, Manship Student Advisory Board, Future Business Leaders of America, East Baton Rouge Teen Court, BETA Club, Student Council, Drama Club, volleyball team and cheerleader.

Jordyn Brianne Carmouche is the granddaughter of Thelma T. Forsythe, of Opelousas, and the late Sgt. 1st Class Henry L. Forsythe Sr., and Lee E. Carmouche, of Opelousas, and the late Melvin Carmouche. She attends Scotlandville Magnet High School, where she is captain of the cheer team and a member of DECA.

Jade Elizabeth Maria Flint is the granddaughter of Sylvia and Dalton Campbell, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Brenda Gilyot, of New Orleans, and Errol Flint Sr., of Atlanta, Georgia. She attends Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she is treasurer of the African Heritage Club. She is an XLR-8 dancer with the Onyx team and co-captain for a hip-hop dance team called Beat Street.

Lauren Elizabeth Gaines is the granddaughter of Betty J. and Bennie W. Scott Sr. and Betty A. Gaines and the late Alex M. Gaines. She attends Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she is a member of National Honor Society, Mock Trial Team and Fashion Club. She is a member of the student board of the Greater Baton Rouge Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions.

Tia Monet Godfrey is the granddaughter of Robert E. Harrison and the late Jacquelyn Snearl and Ida Godfrey and Melvin H. Godfrey. She attends Dutchtown High School.

Amber Nicole Harmon is the granddaughter of the Rev. Carl and Brenda Armstead, of Leesville, and the late Shirley Harmon and the late David Harmon. She attends Dutchtown High School, where she is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, Spanish and Drama Club.

Chloe Jeveneh Horton is the granddaughter of Constance T. Kador and the late Harold W. Horton Sr., Lori S. Hayes and the late Warren Robertson Sr. and the Rev. James H. and Teri L. Davis. She attends McKinley Senior High School, where she is a member of the Varsity Cheer Squad, Student Government Association, Beta Club, National Honors Society, Student Government Association and International Club. She is a 2015 Gamma Eta Omega ASCEND participant, Health Care Centers in Schools Student Alliance Council member and Cinderella Project scholarship recipient.

Morgan Arnell Hughes is the granddaughter of Barbara S. and Clarence White Jr., of Gonzales, and Dorothy R. Hughes, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and the late Pearly Hughes Sr. She attends Runnels School, where she is a member of the Runnels High School Beta Club, volleyball and track teams. She is a member of the National Charity League of Baton Rouge.

Natalie Decola Johnson is the granddaughter of Queenie D. Weeden and the late Lucille A. Bindon. She attends Scotlandville Magnet High School, where she is a member of the Beta Club, Student Government Association and Team Spirit.

Raven Elise Lindsey is the granddaughter of Brenda and Richard Thompson, Ethel and James Brooks, Dorothy and Alvin Burris, of Gonzales, and Brenda Edwards, and the great-granddaughter of Willeva Turner, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Johnas Minor. She attends Zachary High School. She is a member of Gamma Eta Omega Chapter’s ASCEND Program and Teen Court of Baton Rouge, sponsored by the Baton Rouge Bar Association.

Genesis Marissa Ranel is the granddaughter of Mittie H. and John T. Fisher and Irene J. Ranel and the late Willie Ranel. She attends Christian Life Academy, where she is a member of Beta Club, secretary of the National Honor Society, secretary of the Key Club, Color Guard captain, theatre, choir and Student Council. In addition she is a B-Group leader at Bethany Church.

Breanna Nicole Robertson is the granddaughter of the late Ulla Neal and the late Charlie Neal, Addie and John Neal Sr. and the late Rev. Ernest Robertson Sr. and the late Gertrude Robertson. She attends Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she is a member of National Honor Society, African Heritage Club and president of Team Spirit.

Sariah Lauren Rogers is the granddaughter of John Anderson Jr. and the late Albertha R. Anderson and Betty J. and John D. Rogers, of Mansura. She attends Christian Life Academy, where she is a member of the Student Council, Color Guard and Beta Club.
