Take a drive to Perkins Rowe this weekend to experience some local arts.

The shopping center at the intersection of Perkins Road and Bluebonnet Boulevard is teaming up with the Arts Council for its sixth annual free arts festival. The fun kicks off 10 a.m. Saturday and continues through Sunday.

Artists from Louisiana and the Southeast will be on display, presenting original works of pottery, paintings and photographs. Booths will be located on Perkins Rowe Street, between Paris Parker and Barnes & Noble.

The event also features free children’s act activities, stilt walkers and carnival games.

Musical performances include Baton Rouge Music Studios’ Young Band Nation at noon Saturday, followed by Rachael Hallack at 3 p.m. Justin Adams performs at noon Sunday, followed by Party @ Peg’s at 3 p.m.
