Ten Louisiana organizations have made the James Beard Foundation and Food Tank’s 2015 Good Food Org Guide.

The second annual guide identifies and celebrates nearly 1,000 U.S.-based groups that are cultivating a better food system, according to a news release. The groups work in the areas of food and agriculture; nutrition and health; hunger and obesity; and food justice.

The state’s nonprofits earning the honor are: Community Kitchen Collective, Fresh Central, John Besh Foundation, New Orleans Food and Farm Network, NOLA Green Roots, The Renaissance Project, Second Harvest Food Bank, Sprout NOLA, Supporting Urban Agriculture and Vintage Garden Kitchen.

This year’s guide was released Monday at the James Beard Food Conference.
