Beauty queens assist with July 4 celebration

Local beauty queens with The Crowning Moment volunteered at the July 4 events at the USS Kidd in downtown Baton Rouge.

The event included a children’s activity area, music, games and food. TCM girls met Miss USA Nia Sanchez, who gave them pageant tips. TCM girls were also filmed for the Miss USA pageant to be televised on Reelz Channel, and met Miss USA contestants.

The Crowning Moment offers youth mentoring and pageant coaching to girls across the Gulf Coast.

TCM girls also attended the Memorial Day service at the USS Kidd on May 25 along with Mayor Kip Holden and other dignitaries. They thanked the veterans in attendance.
