Clearly LSU has a lot of reasons for implementing "Geaux Clear," its new clear-bag policy that goes into effect in Tiger Stadium on Saturday as LSU takes on Jacksonville State.

There's safety, speeding up admission into the stadium, etc. However, fashion chic wasn't a factor.

That hasn't stopped local and online retailers from coming up with some rather stylish options for Tiger fans of the fairer sex. Clutches, cross-body and tote bags sporting the official LSU logo are easy to find at the Purple & Gold Sports Shop and Tiger People Clothiers as well as online at littlearth.com and sportsunlimitedinc.com. Prices range from $14-$26.95.

Local boutiques like Merci Beaucoup, Frock Candy and Bella Bella offer non-logoed purses in a variety of sizes, from 4½ x 6½ inches to 8x11. All are stylish enough to sport outside of Death Valley on non-game days. Here are some of our favorites.

Geaux Clear

LSU's clear-bag policy allows for only clear tote bags smaller than 12x6x12 inches or one-gallon plastic freezer bags to be permitted in Tiger Stadium and other venues on the LSU campus this year. Bags must be transparent and cannot be tinted, textured or patterned. Non-clear bags may not be put into a clear bag. Small handheld clutch purses, which don't have to be clear, will continue to be permitted in LSU venues.

The university will be distributing complimentary one-gallon freezer bags in parking lots throughout campus on Saturday leading up to the game that night.

All backpacks regardless of size are prohibited and any bags larger than 12x6x12 inches, clear or non-clear, will be strictly prohibited. Exceptions will be made for approved medical needs and diaper bags (with baby). All bags will be subject to search and inspection.
