LE FESTIVAL DE MARDI GRAS A LAFAYETTE: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Monday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Cajun Field, Lafayette. This annual event has carnival rides and games, music and food to celebrate the season and the city's parades. Free. $10 parking fee. Unlimited rides wristband available for $23.


I HEART MY ZOO DAY: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Baton Rouge Zoo, 3601 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge. Action-packed days of Valentine's Day-themed activities. Regular zoo admission applies.

MID CITY MICRO-CON: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge. A program celebrating diversity in comic book characters, creators and their fans with cosplay competition and panel discussions.

BATON ROUGE MARDI GRAS FESTIVAL: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., North Boulevard Town Square, downtown Baton Rouge. Featuring a vendor village, food and music from bands such as Henry Turner Jr. and Flavor.

LUNAR NEW YEAR & STYLE SHOW: Noon to 4 p.m., Warehouse 535, 535 Garfield St., Lafayette. Enjoy Asian culture and traditions as well as cuisine, music and a variety of family-friendly games. $10 online at and $15 at the door. 

METAL GRAS: 4 p.m., The Freetown Boom Boom Room, 300 McKinley St., Lafayette. An all-metal showcase featuring Forming the Void and many others.

MID CITY MAKERS MARKET: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., 541 S. Eugene St., Baton Rouge. An arts market, featuring a performance from the Michael Foster Project.


NOLA ANTIQUE FESTIVAL: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Pontchartrain Convention and Civic Center, 4545 Williams Blvd., Kenner. Shop and browse antique merchandise from more than 70 of the country's finest dealers. $6 adults, $3 children.


MARDI GRAS FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., downtown Iota. Featuring music from Cajun and zydeco bands, folk craft booths and food, surrounding the town's parade.
