    • DETAILS: Youngsters can get in the spirit of the holidays and increase their reading skills as they enjoy a book reading and related crafts at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden. All children participating in the program must be accompanied by a parent, but the event is free. There will be a family-friendly reading of “Oh, What a Christmas!” by Michael Garland. Children also will be able to participate in imagination-themed activities related to the book and holiday season.

Activities include a tea, story time, photos with Santa, face painting, silent auction, cookie decorating, a reading by WAFB-TV’s Lauren Westbrook and live holiday music and dancing.
