Extra: She plays the clarinet in the school’s Intermediate Band and is a member of the Sherwood Middle Project Give organization. “We provide items for people in need,” she explained. This month, Project Give worked with the campus Making a Difference organization to encourage students to donate money and nonperishable food to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The campus raised $750 and collected 10 large barrels of food, the East Baton Rouge Parish school system announced, adding that “for every dollar, seven meals can be purchased for the needy through the food bank, and each barrel of food can feed a family of five for a week.”
