Zea Rotisserie & Bar will break ground Thursday on its Denham Springs location.
The restaurant is celebrating its tenth overall location in Louisiana and second in the greater Baton Rouge area. Zea Rotisserie & Bar will be located in the Juban Crossing shopping center, at 27853 Juban Road.
Taste Buds Management COO Paul Hutson said that the Livingston Parish location "checks all the boxes" for the restaurant group.
"The residential growth in Livingston Parish is very strong, and we believe in this development," Hutson said in the release. "It's the right time to bring a good, local restaurant to this area."
Zea Rotisserie & Bar is slated to open in August with an updated look and "full refresh" of the brand. Updates include a new building design, modernized bar and dining area, contemporary fixtures and covered patio seating.
Overall, the new Zea will be 6,000 square feet and have seating for more than 200 guests, as reported by The Advocate's Timothy Boone last May.
Zea opened in Baton Rouge in 2008 in the Towne Center shopping center, offering signature dishes such as roasted corn grits, Thai ribs and Asian sesame oysters. Namesake favorites of rotisserie meats will remain at the forefront of the menu, according to the release, and the restaurant will offer an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list to complement its updated bar space.
The upcoming Denham Springs location will be the second Zea to feature the redesign. Zea opened its first location in late 1997 in Greater New Orleans area.
