It’s the end of the world for a post-apocalyptic fun run.

The Escape From Run announced Tuesday that this year’s event is canceled due to lack of participation, according to a statement posted online.

“Our team genuinely works hard to put on great events,” the statement reads. “However, we feel that it would be unfair to our registered participants to have such a small group of runners and walkers to participate with.”

Those who purchased a ticket to the event, which was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, will receive a refund.

“We kindly ask for the patience of all participants that signed up for the event, as we are working diligently with the online registration company to issue/process refunds in the most expeditious manner possible,” the statement reads. “This may take up to two weeks.”
