A new event planned for October in downtown Baton Rouge promises festivalgoers to opportunity to sample beers from around the country and the world.
The Cap City Beer Fest, also featuring music and gourmet food, will include more than 100 special beers, as well as a chance for beer-lovers to mingle with brewmasters. The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Town Square, North Boulevard and Third Street, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets, $40 in advance and $50 the day of the festival, allows the ticket-holder to sample any beer and come with a commemorative sampling mug. Advance tickets are available at CapCityBeerFest.org.
Food will be available for purchase from festival vendors, as well as Cap City Beer Fest T-shirts and other beer fest merchandise.
All proceeds from Cap City Beer Fest benefit Companion Animal Alliance, which operates the EBR Animal Shelter and saves thousands of dogs and cats each year. CAABR.org.
