The Arts Council of Pointe Coupee’s sixth “Treasures of Pointe Coupee” exhibit will open Friday, May 29, at the Julien Poydras Center, 500 W. Main St., New Roads.
Art submission forms are due by Friday, April 24. Forms are available at the Pointe Coupee Parish Office of Tourism on Hospital Road, in the lobby at the Poydras Center or by contacting Treasures co-chair Blanche Jewell at (225) 936-6509.
Amateur and professional artists are reminded to work on postcard size submissions for the popular Petite Gallerie component of “Treasures of Pointe Coupee.” Guidelines and drop off boxes for the Petite Gallerie are available at branches of the Pointe Coupee Parish Public Library. The theme for this year’s Petite Gallerie is “Masterpieces.” Entries can be submitted into the youth, adult or photography categories and will be judged by visitors throughout the six days of the exhibit.
Also, the application deadline is Monday for the Glenn Charles Morgan Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior who has an interest in and has excelled in the arts.
