Red Stick Spice Company doubles downtown store space _lowres

There’s no such thing as too much of a good thing with Red Stick Spice Company.

The Baton Rouge shop has expanded its store space in downtown’s Main Street Market, according to a press release.

The new, larger space is located across from Chef Celeste Gill’s newly renovated and recently opened Chef Celeste’s Bistro near the entrance of the market at Fifth and Main Streets. The expanded Red Stick Spice Company, which debuted in Main Street Market in 2014, is now open for business.

Among the renovations to the downtown shop is a larger tasting bar that can accommodate olive oil, balsamic and tea tastings.

An uptick in business was the main reason for the downtown expansion, Red Stick Spice Company owner Milneck said.

“There has been a solid increase in the number of folks we see on Saturdays during the Farmers Market,” she said. “The larger space will help us better serve our customers.”

This is just the latest bit of news for the shop, which opened in its new location at 660 Jefferson Highway in late April.
